Our Portfolio

At Metrodental we take a different approach to our patients smile. We as a practice are minimally invasive; a patients enamel is the strongest material in the body and so should be maintained wherever possible.

Every cosmetic case is approached from what that individual person wants from their smile. We prefer to create a bespoke smile that is individual to that person. Some people want to replace a single crown to match their existing tooth colour while others have lived with badly broken down or neglected teeth and want a full smile makeover.

With posterior teeth we also take a conservative approach using the most advanced ceramic porcelain systems. Rather than cutting back healthy tooth tissue we bond (glue) directly to a tooth eliminating the need to crown teeth. The final results are incredible. Where possible we bond directly with composite to a tooth without cutting or drilling. We do this to repair wear and small gaps to blend perfectly with the surrounding tooth.

Below is a very small example of the work we do at Metrodental.

Anterior (front) cosmetic

The patient was happy with the colour of his teeth and only wanted his old crown replaced; the result is seamless with both the crown and the tooth beside it mirroring each other perfectly:

Two old crowns were replaced and the front gap closed. We used two crowns and two non-preparation veneers to achieve this result. The patient was happy with her gum margins above the crowns:

Again two old crowns were replaced and two veneers placed on two misshaped front teeth. The final result shows what natural looking ceramic work should look like:

Two crowns were replaced and two veneers placed to correct rotated small teeth. A year previous to this a dentist had replaced her crowns but left the rotated teeth as they were!

Complex cases

This lady went to her dentist with a missing front tooth; unfortunately he crowned a perfectly healthy back molar to construct a bridge that ran across her palate with a false tooth connected to it. The tooth to the left of the false tooth had drifted forward due to gum disease and had to be extracted. The tooth to the right of the false tooth had to be crowned due to the amount of tooth that was filling material. This patient had two implants placed three crowns and a veneer. To disguise the amount of bone loss above the implants we used a pink porcelain. The patient cannot stop smiling!

The pictures tell the story here; years of tooth grinding and decay had left this patient with a very poor smile. After undergoing extensive hygiene and restorative work the final result was achieved.

This lady wanted a new upper smile that reflected her outgoing bubbly personality; the teeth all individually made and slightly different to produce a glowing natural smile.

Non-preparation/minimal invasive dentistry

This patient hated the gaps in her teeth and all her teeth were sound. We discussed orthodontics (braces) but she wanted an instant result. Instead of veneers we simply took an impression of her teeth and got our cosmetic lab to make tiny porcelain additions. The result is amazing and completely reversible.

This patient disliked her mis shapen front teeth. One appointment to bond (glue) composite to her front teeth made a dramatic difference.

Broken down molar teeth were rebuilt using very strong ceramic onlays to conserve tooth structure:

Re-doing cosmetic work with poor aesthetics

A dentist veneered eight of this ladies front teeth; she was unhappy with the poor aesthetics, long square veneers and lopsided smile. The fit of the veneers  caused the gums to become inflamed, the length was causing her to lisp and she had already broken one due to the complexity of her bite:

Her final work at Metrodental looked like her natural teeth with the shape texture and colour that suited her face. The gums also were recovering due to an exact fit:
